Buba is an exciting restaurant, bringing the tastes and rich cultural mix of the Eastern Mediterranean to Belfast’s buzzing Cathedral Quarter.

Buba is owned by husband and wife team, Tony and Andrea O’Neill, who also own and operate the Italian inspired restaurant/cichetti bar Coppi, a magnet for Belfast foodies, also located in Saint Anne’s Square.

Buba is a fun and vibrant open-plan eatery serving modern day Eastern Mediterranean-inspired food and cocktails. The menu is comprised of lots of small plate dishes, designed to share, with half the menu dedicated to vegans! They’ll give you a sample of all of the rich culinary traditions, exotic produce, flavoursome spices and cooking techniques this region is known for.

Open seven nights a week plus lunch from Wednesday to Sunday, there is plenty of time to come try customer favourites including halloumi fries, chilli jam and house sauce and the spiced lamb with house sauce, harissa salsa, yoghurt and lemon. Desserts such as sticky date pudding, ras el hanout, caramel and vanilla cream are the perfect way to finish a sharing feast at Buba. Half of the menu is dedicated to vegan dishes, such as roast carrots, hummus, confit tomato and chermoula and spinach, chilli jam, and spiced cauliflower flatbreads. There really is something for everyone.

The design of Buba showcases a warm, vibrant colour palate of burnt orange, teal and copper. Seating is a mix of comfortable and plush banquette seating around the perimeter with large central tables perfect for getting to know your dining companions that little bit better. You can even dine right in front of the kitchen on high fixed stools, the perfect seat to watch the chefs at work, and play!

Heating, music and lighting is extremely important to set the scene for the perfect dining experience, and this has been well thought of with funky playlists and even funkier lighting with the centre piece of twenty multi coloured origami paper lanterns giving the interior that wow factor.
